Call for Volunteers!
Check out these exciting volunteer opportunities with CLAU! Because we are an organization made up of all volunteers, we try to break up these opportunities into bite-size pieces so that no one person will be overwhelmed.
Beehive Awards Committee Member: Recommend, read, review and champion books for the one of the Book Award categories. Requires two meetings (physically or virtually) -- once, usually in September/October to compile the long list of books to review and then in January to create the list of nominees for the Awards.
Beehive Awards Committee Chair: Work with committee members to compile the long list of books to review for a category and create the short list of nominees. Contact authors/publishers about nominations and award-winning. Attend (physically or virtually) monthly board meetings.
Webmaster: Maintain and update the CLAU website. Attend (physically or virtually) monthly board meetings.
Treasurer: Maintain the financial records of CLAU. Attend (physically or virtually) monthly board meetings.
Outreach/Event/Conference Coordinator: Coordinate any outreach or other CLAU events including working on publicity, arrangements, etc. Organize the CLAU presentations at the UELMA and ULA conferences. This includes registering CLAU, preparing slideshows, and organizing giveaways. Attendance at some board meetings (physically or virtually) may be required.
PR/Social Media/Publicity Coordinator: Help with PR and publicity for CLAU including social media, member newsletter, etc. Update the local press about the Beehive Book Awards. Attend (physically or virtually) monthly board meetings.
